The California Department of
Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) meets regularly with stakeholders,
including the Consultative Workgroup
(CWG) and the attendees of the Topock
Leadership Planning Partnership (TLP), and has conducted extensive
public outreach regarding cleanup activities at the Topock Compressor
Station (Station) and Topock Site (Site). These activities include hosting
briefings and Site tours for elected officials and for federal, state,
county and city agency staff. Numerous fact sheets have been produced
and project documents are available in Information
Repositories and in this website’s Document
Library; which are updated regularly. Project documents can also be
obtained by contacting DTSC. To download documents from this website,
please visit the Document
Library.
DTSC publishes fact sheets regularly, providing updates on project activities
and on the progress of the RCRA Corrective Action at the Site. Fact sheets
were published by DTSC as follows:
Fact sheets are distributed to elected officials; agency staff; and
to the residents of local communities including Golden Shores, Topock,
and Lake Havasu City, Arizona; and to ten Indian Tribes: the Fort Mojave,
Chemehuevi, Colorado River, Fort-Quechan, Cocopah, Havasupai, Hualapai,
Torres-Martinez Desert Cahuilla and Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribes, and
the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians.

Public Participation Plan and Fact Sheets can be found in the Document
Library, and in the Information
Repositories.
In May 2008, DTSC initiated a public comment period and held public
meetings to solicit public comment on the proposed scope of the Environmental
Impact Report (EIR). Scoping meeting comments and other project documents
are available for review in the online Document
Library and the Information
Repositories.
A Topock Community Survey was sent to the public in January 2009. In
mid July 2009, DTSC used the survey feedback to write a Public Participation
Plan Addendum for the February 2007 Public Participation Plan. The Topock
Community Survey and the July 2009 Public Participation Plan Addendum
can be found in the Document
Library and in the Information
Repositories.
In July and September 2009, DTSC held several community workshops in
local communities surrounding the Station including the following: Fort
Mohave Indian Tribe, Chemehuevi Indian Tribe, Colorado River Indian Tribe

environmental investigation at the Station.
